Most ways that restrict women's conditions of freedom are subtle and social conditioning. Philosophy can be a helpful way to free oneself from restrictions. The challenge is that philosophical books are written in technical language for the academic world. With all the demands society puts on women, we simply don't have time to work through the technical obstacles, book by book. Two practical solutions are:
The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy provides thorough summaries of various feminist topics. But they're written for the philosophy community and don't always include in-depth book summaries of particular feminist books I'm interested in.
But what I find works better is chapter-by-chapter, in-depth summaries of books at SuperSummary.com. You can read through 10 book summaries that are much more in-depth than Wikipedia pages. Because they're chapter-by-chapter summaries, you can actually follow the author's way of thinking. It's written in plain language that anyone can understand. You can read through ten book chapter-by-chapter summaries over a weekend. The only drawback is the subscription fees.
